When I first got my macro lens I loved how close up I was able to get to things, to take them from new perspectives.
Looking through some of my stuff and browsing some of the awesome groups on here, though, I've realised that I'm still missing out on a whole new level of macro-ness. Since I always have my aperture set as small as possible, when I get too close hardly anything is in focus and I give up, when what I should really do is stop being lazy and change the setting and play around with even-closer-in pictures.
So that's what I'm going to do!

Macro
Well I guess I'm really bad at updating this journal. I know I haven't even been on dA for months, I definitely do this in phases. I take photos more often, though, just usually only upload them in batches.
I'm really pleased with the work I've been doing lately. I got a macro lens (Tamron 90mm) and I LOVE it and my photography has improved so much since I got it. Plus it's opened up a whole new style of photography now that I can really go to town on playing with shallow depth of field and choosing which point to have in focus.
Aside from the flower photography, which I've always been into, I'm finding myself more and more drawn to industr
Camera
My crappy fuji as-big-and-heavy-as-a-DSLR-but-without-the-benefits camera :stab: has been bugging me for some time now. The only serious issue with it is its inability to deal with red but its also just not a great camera, even in its class. So I decided to save up for a new one using the money from my jewelry sales. However I guess the old one was quite old and when I tried to plug in the USB cable to upload my latest set of pictures last week the little socket fell inside the camera and shorted it out so it no longer starts.:omfg:
So I got my new one already!! thanks to my husband who just shelled out and bought it for me. :c
Creativity
After discovering that groups were not exclusively for premium members and going crazy joining several, I have more recently been neglecting my DeviantArt account. So first I want to thank everyone who has contributed to my 2000 pageviews (!!!:D :w00t: ) and welcome all my lovely new watchers :) I hope I can continue to provide artwork you find worth looking at :boogie:! I know that I have my new groups to thank for most, if not all, my recent :+fav:s  and they are a fantastic place to find amazing art so check them out. I wish I had more time to peruse the work people submit to the groups because they make me amazed and impressed, help
Website
So I've been spending a ton of time recently on my website, which is now finished :D Check it out at http://www.carnelionart.com I can't claim credit for the design, I just haven't had enough time to make a template myself. I might update it in the future if I find the time to make my own theme.
I've also started a blog about jewelry, I talk about making jewelry, any interesting (for good or bad reasons!) jewelry I find online, showcase other people's work from Etsy and, of course, my own stuff! If you want to follow my blog you can find it at http://carnelionart.blogspot.com/
And I've found loads more great photo opportunities since I move
